Goats are versatile animals that can be classified into two types: domestic goats and mountain goats. Actually, they were one of the first animals to be domesticated. (They may have been the very first!) Goats continue to be a popular species today.
Meat goats have gained popularity in America in recent decades as an economical protein source, and one in increasing demand for ethnic cuisines. The Boer breed is the primary meat goat breed raised in America, and it is the breed exhibited at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
